On PyCon Italia 2026’s Open Day, we’ll recreate the spirit of Django On The Med with a hands-on sprint session inspired by our seaside gathering, bringing collaboration, contribution, and community energy to the city.
Get ready for a special Django session at PyCon Italia 2026 during the Open Day dedicated to communities. This year we are bringing the spirit of Django On The Med to the conference, even if we are far from the sea. The goal is simple: recreate the collaborative and welcoming atmosphere of our Mediterranean sprints, right in the heart of the city. During this interactive session, we will bring the Django sprint experience of Django on the Med to inland Bologna We will spend part of the day working side by side on laptops, contributing to Django itself and to related projects, fixing issues, reviewing code, improving documentation, and helping each other move forward. Whether you are new to contributing or already experienced, you will find space to participate. But Django Off The Med is not only about code. Just like during our sprints, another important part of the session will be about connection and conversation. We will create time to talk, exchange ideas, share experiences from the Django community, and meet other contributors who care about the future of the framework. If you are curious about contributing, want to experience the sprint format, or simply wish to spend meaningful time with other Django enthusiasts, join us. No sea view this time, but the same collaborative energy.
